As you know I don’t enter challenges – almost never – and only share my projects on here with you girls but as part of my New Year resolutions I have decided to blow my own trumpet a bit …only a very tiny bit mind!!! I have decided to enter some challenges. Lots of my crafty pals say “oh, I just won this….”, Or “I got first place at…” and I confess to a little craft envy…so here is my very first one – I am entering this “love” card using the Little Miss Muffet digi stamp and coloured with copics (yeah, you would have guessed that, right?)…. So the card is going to be entered for the Love challenge over at Little Miss Muffet stamps (Link to blog here), (Link to shop here)….
The papers, flowers, die cutters (Spell Binders), die cut hearts and cheese cloth are all available from That Craft Place and I know that they will be delighted to give you a hand if there is something you are particularly looking for so why not give them a shout? (Link here).
So this is me ‘having a go’ and I shall endeavour to ‘have a go’ next week too – check back and see what I come up with next time….
Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world!!! xxx
So I have been taking a couple of colouring classes with the lovely Clare Rowlands recently – she has been over at a paper place not too far from where I live. I cannot tell you how much it helps to have some show you how to colour properly…I have watched mountains of vids on youtube etc – havent we all? and they are good but the real thing is so much better. So now I am hooked on Copics….which is just as well since That Craft Place now stock them!!!
The challenge this time is “Things with Wings”……I immediately thought…Fairies….and it was very nearly a snow fairy but I thought I would avoid Christmas for a little bit longer, although I know it is on the way…here is my project….
She is a Mo Manning image, coloured with Copics. I threw in a little frantage, some hand rolled flowers, lots of Memory Box dies, some Joy Dies, some seam binding and a sprinkle of pearls…. here are some close ups….
Here is a closer picture of the frantage – this is Shabby White….
And a close up of those hand rolled flowers, it also shows a close up of the colouring – I have used a coloured pencil to add a little depth to the shadows int he folds othe dress here, and if you look closely at the wings you can see how fabulously the Copics pens blend together – here I have used a very soft aqua and a very soft lilac to give the wings some irridescence….
I do hope you like this project – I loved making it to share with you. If you would like to take part in this weeks challenge, head on over to That Craft Place where I know Lisa, Danny and Lynn will be happy to help you chose items for your project….and when you have finished why not share it with us and enter the That Craft Place Challenge over at http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/….we look forward to seeing your finished items…..
Well here we are again – weather been a bit kinder and I have managed to get out into my garden and clear up some weeds – just the rest of the garden to work on now!!! and of course I am not working this weekend but it’s heaving down outside! makes me wish for sunnier climes….
The challenge! Yup it’s time for the men and boys and with Fathers day coming next month I am going to need all the inspiration I can get…. here are my entries….
So this first card features one of the amazing Visible Image stamps – Edgar. He is a such a dashing chap. I love his sartorial elegance with the cane….I teamed this up with some Tim Holtz tickets, Stampin’ Up! card stock , cotton ribbon and DSP and some gorgeous Bo Bunny paper. this is called Cambridge stripe and is the flip side – they always have two fantastic sides making it usually hard to choose which side to have upper most – but in this case I totally love the flip side! I used Pro Markers to colour Edgar in with.
This second card I made as a Thank you for the trainer we have had for six weeks at my new job. Again it is a Visible Image stamp – Edward – he is about my favourite I think. I wanted to team colours up for this project as I had coloured the image with my Tim Holtz Distress inks before I chose the paper etc so here we have Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, Stampin Up card-stock, ribbon and twine, Bo Bunny Boo Hooligans paper, a Joy Crafts die cut and emboss paper scroll and some metallic findings. Phew!!! The edges are finished with some gilding wax to shine up the edges and tie in the metallic finish. I really enjoyed this one and the guy who received loved it too which is always the aim!
These cards are for the ‘For the Men’ challenge over at That Craft Place and you can give the girls a ring for the products where they will be delighted to help you choose your favourites! Why not have a go yourself and share your makes over at That Craft Place blog? We would love to see what you make!
Until next time….remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
Well Hello! has it really been only two weeks? feels both longer – lots happened – and shorter – where did the time go? I know from talking with my other pals they all feel the same. Long winter means that we are all rushing like made to straighten our gardens ready for some much needed warm summer days…Come on summer, need you now!!!
Okay – the Challenge for That Craft Place….Altered item…hmmmm this one had me thinking, I dont actually do many altered items…(What do you do? I hear you shout!!!! I know right? I spend hours crafting and most of it is in class preparation…honest!) I had spotted these slightly larger than normal cotton reel thingummy bobs…and that got the juices flowing a little…so this is what I came up with….
Started like this….
And in the wink of an eye they became this….(Actually took a teensy weensy bit longer than that but …hey ho!)
Altered Cotton Reels
Here are a couple of close – ups…
I do hope that you like them, I have used cotton reels, Vintage lace, seam binding, flowers, pearls, Memory Box die cuts, bits of dowling out of my dads workshop (shhhh! don’t tell him!!!!) and dolly forms – which are every where right now! I used some glossy accents to secure the dowling into the cotton reels and placed a small circle of card to cover the base for neatness. Remember, that you can make these in the wink of an eye (!!!!) and take part in the challenge of an Altered Item. The girls over at That Craft Place will be delighted to help you with all you need. Good luck and please share your finished item with us……until next time, remember to stamp your place in the world! xxxx
So here we are again with another challenge ahead of me…this time it is a Wedding theme! If there is one thing I dont do it is weddings. Weddings and babies!!!! So thats two things….I think it is because my boys are not yet at the age where they or their friends are having babies or getting married. It will come I know but I am savouring it in the meantime. However, I do have a lovely project to share with you for the That Craft Place blog challenge and here it is….
I really enjoyed making this box project – The base box is made out of pearl card stock – its a little bit thicker than normal at 300gsm so make brilliant boxes. I have then used Sahara Sand card stock and seam binding ribbon from Stampin Up, the die cuts and flowers are Joy Crafts Floral flourishes and corner die cuts. The glass vials came from That Craft Place and I filled them with frantage pieces which were also mixed with clear embossing powder to highlight the centre of the butterflies and the flowers. The butterflies were punched out of pearl card stock using a Stampin’ Up butterfly punch. Here are another couple of images….
I hope that you like this project and encourage you to join us for the Wedding theme challenge over at That Craft Place challenge blog. I can’t wait to see what you make for the Wedding Challenge…..See you very soon….X
This is my first ‘That Craft Place’ design team project and I am so excited to have been chosen to be part of the design team. It is a daunting project with so many talented people around and so many different aspects to crafting to be having a go at but here goes …. and I truly hope you like it. Whilst I have made this card specifically for the challenge – which is ANYTHING GOES by the way!!! – I had already spotted this image somewhere else and loved but thought I might have to wait until the winter months came back around to use it. One of my favourite things about crafting is the colouring in – I like lots of different media for this but my current favourite is marker pens…
Glitter Card Stock – Stampin’ Up Silver Glimmer Paper
Die Cuts – Memory Box

So that’s the first project made – have a look over on the That Craft Place challenge blog at all the wonderful and amazing projects the other girls have made and maybe have a go yourself – you never know it could be your project that wins the very next prize!
So till next time – remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
