Things with Wings….

So I have been taking a couple of colouring classes with the lovely Clare Rowlands recently – she has been over at a paper place not too far from where I live. I cannot tell you how much it helps to have some show you how to colour properly…I have watched mountains of vids on youtube etc – havent we all? and they are good but the real thing is so much better. So now I am hooked on Copics….which is just as well since That Craft Place now stock them!!!

The challenge this time is “Things with Wings”……I immediately thought…Fairies….and it was very nearly a snow fairy but I thought I would avoid Christmas for a little bit longer, although I know it is on the way…here is my project….IMG_2874wtmk

She is a Mo Manning image, coloured with Copics. I threw in a little frantage, some hand rolled flowers, lots of Memory Box dies, some Joy Dies, some seam binding and a sprinkle of pearls….  here are some close ups….

Here is a closer picture of the frantage – this is Shabby White….IMG_2878wtmk

And a close up of those hand rolled flowers, it also shows a close up of the colouring – I have used a coloured pencil to add a little depth to the shadows int he folds othe dress here, and if you look closely at the wings you can see how fabulously the Copics pens blend together – here I have used a very soft aqua and a very soft lilac to give the wings some irridescence….

Colour Me Creative – ANY913

For the men….and boys…..

Well here we are again – weather been a bit kinder and I have managed to get out into my garden and clear up some weeds – just the rest of the garden to work on now!!! and of course I am not working this weekend but it’s heaving down outside! makes me wish for sunnier climes….

The challenge! Yup it’s time for the men and boys and with Fathers day coming next month I am going to need all the inspiration I can get…. here are my entries….image0255

So this first card features one of the amazing Visible Image stamps – Edgar. He is a such a dashing chap. I love his sartorial elegance with the cane….I teamed this up with some Tim Holtz tickets, Stampin’ Up! card stock , cotton ribbon and DSP and some gorgeous Bo Bunny paper. this is called Cambridge stripe  and is the flip side – they always have two fantastic sides making it usually hard to choose which side to have upper most – but in this case I totally love the flip side!  I used Pro Markers to colour Edgar in with.image0254

This second card I made as a Thank you for the trainer we have had for six weeks at my new job. Again it is a Visible Image stamp – Edward – he is about my favourite I think. I wanted to team colours up for this project as I had coloured the image with my Tim Holtz Distress inks before I chose the paper etc so here we have Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, Stampin Up card-stock, ribbon and twine, Bo Bunny Boo Hooligans paper, a Joy Crafts die cut and emboss paper scroll and some metallic findings. Phew!!! The edges are finished with some  gilding wax to shine up the edges and tie in the metallic finish. I really enjoyed this one and the guy who received loved it too which is always the aim!

These cards are for the ‘For the Men’ challenge over at That Craft Place and you can give the girls a ring for the products where they will be delighted to help you choose your favourites!  Why not have a go yourself and share your makes over at That Craft Place blog? We would love to see what you make!

Until next time….remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Oh Wedding Belles….

So here we are again with another challenge ahead of me…this time it is a Wedding theme!  If there is one thing I dont do it is weddings. Weddings and babies!!!!  So thats two things….I think it is because my boys are not yet at the age where they or their friends are having babies or getting married. It will come I know but I am savouring it in the meantime. However, I do have a lovely project to share with you for the That Craft Place blog challenge and here it is….

Wedding explosion box
Wedding explosion box

I really enjoyed making this box project – The base box is made out of pearl card stock – its a little bit thicker than normal at 300gsm so make brilliant boxes.  I have then used Sahara Sand card stock and seam binding ribbon from Stampin Up, the die cuts and flowers are Joy Crafts Floral flourishes and corner die cuts.  The glass vials came from That Craft Place and I filled them with frantage pieces which were also mixed with clear embossing powder to highlight the centre of the butterflies and the flowers. The butterflies were punched out of pearl card stock using a Stampin’ Up butterfly punch.  Here are another couple of images….
