Oh, Baby…..!

Hellooooo!

I am hopefully going to amaze myself with this post!   Usually I am writing and posting this fortnightly at around midnight before it is due to be published on the Sunday morning….but today is Thursday! Yep – out of sync and what is more I WONT EVEN BE HOME!!!!   I am heading to Aberdeen in the morning (Friday) to meet up with a load of crafting pals for a full days crafting on Saturday. Now I live down in Cumbria so I am heading up to Glasgow Friday to meet up with my good friend Moni and we are then heading up together on  the train to Aberdeen. When we get there we will meet up with another friend before all heading to the venue.  Now I am quite excited about this as I am teaching at this event and have spent the last few weeks prepping three projects and kits for 36 ladies. I am also incredibly nervous.

You can see how it all went by visiting my sister blog, http://www.Stampdelicious.com after wednesday. I will take some picture and post them across there so you can see how much fun we had.

To today’s (Sunday) challenge for That Craft Place…..It’s all about Baby’s……now my babies are all grown up – 15 and 21 years old and we aren’t in that group where our children and their pals are having babies just yet either so I rarely make a baby card…and yet i think I have made around a dozen this year!!!

I am hosting this challenge for Lisa and would love it if you would take part and share your Baby makes……here’s mine….IMG_2813wtmk

I do hope that you will join us – and if you need any items to create your own ‘Baby” challenge project, or indeed make a card for someone special – please head along to That Craft Place where Lisa Danny and Lynn will be delighted to help you choose.  Remember That Craft Place is also on Facebook!

I look forward to seeing you there…..xxx

Things with Wings….

So I have been taking a couple of colouring classes with the lovely Clare Rowlands recently – she has been over at a paper place not too far from where I live. I cannot tell you how much it helps to have some show you how to colour properly…I have watched mountains of vids on youtube etc – havent we all? and they are good but the real thing is so much better. So now I am hooked on Copics….which is just as well since That Craft Place now stock them!!!

The challenge this time is “Things with Wings”……I immediately thought…Fairies….and it was very nearly a snow fairy but I thought I would avoid Christmas for a little bit longer, although I know it is on the way…here is my project….IMG_2874wtmk

She is a Mo Manning image, coloured with Copics. I threw in a little frantage, some hand rolled flowers, lots of Memory Box dies, some Joy Dies, some seam binding and a sprinkle of pearls….  here are some close ups….

 IMG_2877wtmk

Here is a closer picture of the frantage – this is Shabby White….IMG_2878wtmk

And a close up of those hand rolled flowers, it also shows a close up of the colouring – I have used a coloured pencil to add a little depth to the shadows int he folds othe dress here, and if you look closely at the wings you can see how fabulously the Copics pens blend together – here I have used a very soft aqua and a very soft lilac to give the wings some irridescence….

I do hope you like this project – I loved making it to share with you. If you would like to take part in this weeks challenge, head on over to That Craft Place where I know Lisa, Danny and Lynn will be happy to help you chose items for your project….and when you have finished why not share it with us and enter the That Craft Place Challenge over at http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/….we look forward to seeing your finished items…..

I am entering this project to

Colour Me Creative – ANY913

Great News and 24 Hours a day Shopping!!!!

I am running around gathering fruit up at the moment. Some of you may remember that we moved house just on Christmas last year. We inherited a lovely garden with lots of fabulous plants and some fruit trees in it: two apple trees, a plum tree and some black-currants. Well the birds have eaten most of the black-currants before we got a chance to pick them so I suspect there will be some netting going up next year! But the plums and the apples!!!! Wow!!! there are so many!!! I picked the first lot of plums last week and we had plum crumble for tea, but there were so many, I took some to both my neighbours, made another crumble and then two pots of plum jam!

Now it has been a few years since I last made jam….we wont speculate how many suffice to say it is definitely more than thirty!!! still, I thought, it would be a dreadful shame for all this fruit to go to waste, so I made 10 pots of apple jam/sauce too!!! and this weekend? We are making apple chutney.  It is very exciting, we bought this huge big jam pan, thermometer and jar grabber thingummy – for get the sterile jars out of the hot water!   This years Christmas gifts will mostly contain chutney and cheese – so sorry to spoil the surprise if you are normally on my present list!!!

Also featured is the foil sheets and here I used the Postage Stamp Punch to create a backdrop for my paper samples to sit on.

In this picture you get a closer look at the fabulous and glamourous Frosted Finishes Embellishments – these can be found in the new autumn Winter Catalogue.  Next Up, and still using the Winter Frost Papers we are making this super basket – I found this on Pinterest and the original is made by this lady here A Big Thank goes to Wenche for an amazing design  …very Frosty colours here – Can you tell I adore this paper?

IMG_2848wtmk

Just one picture for this as a bit of a sneak peak but you are getting lots of ‘things to do’ with this item and this project uses the new colours Bermuda bay and Coastal Cabana as well as Coastal Cabana silver Ribbon (also in the new catty!!).

And lastly…..this next item I have CASE’d from here, a big Thank You to Tammy Tobac for a fabulous design,  I adored this lovely design as soon as I saw and thought I would try and make it in the new papers and colours – I am also going to do it in the Red and Greens as I just think it is lovely!

IMG_2851wtmkIMG_2852wtmk

This one uses the Bubbling Brown Sugar card-stock, Winter Frost DSP, The Petite Pennants Builder punch, The Warmth and Wonder Stamp set which is a Hostess set (see above where you could be the NEWEST Stampin Up Hostess, right from the comfort of your armchair!!!))  And the Window Frames Collection frame-lits – I totally love the frame-lits – didn’t think I would but I use them all the time now, they are versatile and can cover a multitude of sins!!!!

I am so pleased with this months projects – I really enjoyed making them and photographing them.  I suspect the flying Christmas trees card will end up being one of my main card makes for this Christmas in both colour ways so once it is made in the Red and Greens I will share it with you….

Okay Ladies…Until next time, remember to stamp your place in the world! xxxx

Joy to the World…

I nearly didnt make it this time! It is that day int he year where you spend all your time fulfilling a list – the School Uniform list – with a grumpy teenager in tow as well.  To be fair my Youngest Son wasn’t too bad this time. Some years have been horrendous but this year I got “yep it fits, no don’t buy a jumper, I am never going to wear it, not to gym kit, yes to shirts and trousers and yes, I will try one of each on, but only one!”  I felt likeI had somehow won a battle although I am a long ways off winning the war on his bedroom!

Okay, what do I have for you this time?    I have a tag for you. It the Challenge time over at That Craft Place and the challenge is “inspired by Music”.   Hmmmm. I confess to really being challenged. I have a great image that has music notes attached. which I thought would be fab, but after I had started colouring it in, I didnt like it and it ended up in the bun!  After a quick chat with my pal Susan, who told me to just put on some music I came up with this. The bizarre bit is that I was listening to Abba!!!IMG_0073wtmk

So i have used Pan Pastels to make a smooth creamy background and spritz it with Perfect Pearls. I then tore off a piece of pre embossed Kraft card and buffed it with a Navy blue ink pad so that the embossing shows up more. The snowflakes are dies from Joy Crafts and I used the negative paper with a VersaMark pen and some PanPastel to put some snowflakes into the background.  The letters were some I had and I inked them up, covered them in Glossy Accents and sprinkled them with fine glitter. I also added some ribbons and the magnolia image…..Here are some closeups….IMG_0074wtmk

I really hope you like this and think about having a go at the challenge yourself. The Guys over at That Craft Place would love to help you chose what you are going to need to complete your projects and don’t forget t o share your make with us when you are done! We would love to see it!

So Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
